You have lots of alternatives in Thailand for a vacation and you need to work out precisely what you plan to do while you are there.
Your beginning stop will be in the capital, Bangkok and you should plan to stay there for a couple of days, especially if this is your 1st visit to Thailand. While you go on vacation, where you stay is as important as wherever you go.
